Sara Canning is a Canadian actress who has appeared in such series as The Vampire Diaries and Netflix’ A Series of Unfortunate Events. She has also been seen on the big screen in Primeval: New World and the mega-blockbuster War For Planet of the Apes. She returns home in her latest film Prodigals, which had it’s premiere at the Whistler Film Festival in December and opened in Toronto on June 8th.

Breakthroughs Film Festival, is the only one of its kind in Canada. This is because it showcases short films made by emerging female talent – both in Canada and around the world. Executive Chair talks about what goes into programming a festival of this nature, the state of women in the industry and independent film in Canada. BFF runs from June 15-16
