Toronto’s Fall For Dance Festival runs from October 2-6 at the Sony Centre and Ryerson Theatre. Nicole Brooks is the creator and composer and Prime Guerra is the choreographer of Obeah Opera, a re-telling of the the Salem Witch Trials as seen through the eyes of Caribbean Slave Women living at that time. Starring an all female cast, Obeah Opera goes on stage October 5th and 6th.
Sandra Laronde is the Artistic and Executive Director of Red Sky, a leading, contemporary voice of indigenous art, theatre and dance. Through Red Sky, Sandra is one of the choreographers of Adizokan, “a genre-defying contemporary creation featuring Indigenous dance, vocals, electro and orchestral music – performed live by the Toronto Youth Symphony Orchestra.” It runs October 3 and 4th at FFDN.
