Episode 019 – WFF #2: Trailblazers

Hello there!

It is part two of the Whistler Film Festival. Today on the show, renowned Canadian director Deepa Mehta, documentary filmmaker Jennifer Dicresce and Moncton-based hard rock band The Motorleague.

 Deepa Mehta is considered one of Canada’s top filmmakers. Her presence at the Whistler Film Festival this proves it.  Not only does she have a new film – Anatomy of Violence – in the festival, but is also the head of the Borsos Jury for Best Canadian Feature and is receiving the trailblazer award for her career’s work, which includes the Oscar-nominated film Water.

The Motorleague is hard rock quartet from Moncton, NB whose sophmore album is Holding Patterns.

Jennifer Dicresce is a documentary filmmaker whose portrait of award-winning Vancouver-base filmmaker John Zaritsky – Mr. Zaritsky on TV – is making its world premiere at Whistler!
