Episode 155 – Bianca Andreescu, Henry Ian Cusick

March 11, 2019

I love tennis! Canadian tennis has never been of better quality than at its current moment. This is in part thanks to pros such Milos Raonic, Denis Shapovalov, Vasek Pospisil, Gabriela Dobrowski and Eugenie Bouchard. 2019 saw the rise of a new phenom, now the number one Canadian on the women’s tour – Bianca Andreescu. After starting the year ranked 152, she has rocketed up 92 spots to number 60. So far in the season she is 24-3, including a runner-up finish at her first tournament of the season (in which she beat Caroline Wozniacki and tennis legend Venus Williams in consecutive matches) followed by a win in a WTA 125 Challenger Series in California. She is currently competing at Indian Wells.

Henry Ian Cusick became known to American audiences for his as Desmond Hume on the classic JJ Abrams series Lost. Since then, he has several high-profile series regular roles including Marcus Kane on The 100, Dr. Jonas Lear in The Passage, and, perhaps most famously, as Stephen Finch in Scandal. He has also appeared in several films including Rememory, Everglades, Just Let Go, Hitman, and The Girl on the Train. His latest is Chimera Strain, in which he plays a scientist who freezes his children in attempt to rid their DNA of a deadly genetic virus. It opens March 15th.
